I have great pleasure to announce the appointment of Britta Tamverk as the new Chairperson of the Irish Estonian Business Network. In her day job, Britta is the CEO and Founder of City Keeltekool, a leading learning institute in the heart of Tallinn City. Please join us in wishing Britta all the best in the future. As always we could not achieve our goals without your support, the support of Enterprise Ireland, EAS, Embassy of Ireland; Tallinn and Embassy of Estonia; Dublin. From the very beginning (2015), our aim was to bring together like minded people, offer networking opportunities to meet in both countries, share knowledge and build trade links.
A Trade Mission was always our goal, and now we can say it is a reality! With the support of the stakeholders listed above, IEBN is now part of the team who will travel to Ireland 31st of August for the first ICT Trade Mission, the itinerary is full of interesting meetings with leading Irish and Estonian companies, knowledge sharing, networking, seminars on commercial contracts and governmental co-operation, Neil Mathieson of Key Capital will lead the mission. 25th of November 2015; Mr Mike Hogan; Director for Enterprise Ireland, (Baltic Region) presented at the quarterly IEBN Business Network meet.
Topics included a presentation of Irish/Estonian Trade, updates from Minister Sean Sherlock’s trade mission and friendship visit to Tallinn, June 2015. Good news stories including the significant increase in Jan-July Exports from Ireland to Estonia (+ 28%), recent developments in Industries such as Wood/Timber requirements & exports. Special thanks to Enterprise Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland for inviting the network to support and present to the large group of Estonian and Irish Delegates that attended. Key note speakers including Toomas Türk of Technopol , Estonia and Andrew Tobin of T2.ie, Ireland. Following on from this, Minister Shelock received much press coverage; promoting strong business and cultural links between both countries.

‘Craic agus Ceol go léir’
The newly established Irish-Estonian Business Network was launched at the Inaugural St Patrick’s Day Ball in the Swissôtel, Tallinn, on Saturday 14th of March, 2015. At the Ball, 110 people enjoyed ‘Craic agus Ceol go léir’ meaning ‘Lots of music and fun’ in the Irish Language.
This fantastic night featured traditional Irish music, song and Irish Céilí dancing until late. Sponsored by a number of companies including Enterprise Ireland, Swissôtel, HML Project Management and supported by the Embassy of Ireland in Tallinn. The Ball included a welcome reception and a sumptuous 3-course traditional Irish meal. Two Irish wolfhounds, Ana and Art, from the Estonian Irish Wolfhound and Deerhound Club welcomed guests on their arrival.
Musical introduction was made by Áine and Muireann Ní Dhroighneáin (Sean Nós singers) and Emily Cullen (Irish Harp player) from Galway, Ireland, who traveled over especially for the St Patrick’s Day celebrations. And all Estonian Irish dance group ‘Solas’ performed a rendition of ‘River Dance’ and later lead the Irish Céilí dancing. Musical entertainment was provided by Jaak Johanson (guitar), Krista Joonas (flute) & Rainer Kährik (accordion).
The Ball was hosted not only to celebrate St Patrick’s Day but also to launch the Irish-Estonian Business Network (IEBN).
